그는 강자에게 약하고 약자에게 강하다.
강점은 strong point 혹은 merit 그리고 one’s strength 라고 하고 단점은 weak point 나demerits 혹은 fault, shortcomings를 쓴다. 그래서 장점과 단점을 merit and demerits 라고 하고 단점을 지적하다 는 point out the flow(demerits) 라고 한다.
단점을 보완하다 라고 한다면 Supplement one’s weaknesses 라고 하는데 weakness 또한 단점, 약점의 뜻이 있기 때문이다. 또한 사람은 누구나 장, 단점이 있다. 라고 한다면 everybody has his strength and weaknesses 라고 한다.
당신의 단점이 뭔가요? 라고 한다면 what is your weak points? 라고 하면 되고 반대의 경우는 strong point 이다. 참고로 약육강식은 the law of the jungle 인데 여기는 약육강식의 법이 있다 라고 한다면 the law of the jungle here 이다.
